A graduate of Virginia Tech and a licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia, Charles has contributed to several high-profile projects, including the Utoy Creek Sewer Separation in Atlanta, the PDK Helipad for the 1996 Olympics, the Isle of Palms Connector (Bridge), the GSP Airport Runway 3 extension for the BMW Plant, and the Big Creek Federal Grant-funded Wetlands demonstration project.
